Security at the Hypervisor Level
When it comes to cloud security, relying solely on firewalls running inside your operating system (like Windows Defender or Linux iptables) is a risky bet. If a malicious actor compromises your OS, they can easily disable those internal controls.
That is why LYNIO secures your infrastructure at the hypervisor level. Our network firewalls operate entirely outside of your virtual machines, blocking unauthorized traffic before it ever reaches your operating system.
We do this through a powerful, dual-action firewall framework: Security Lists and Security Groups.
The Dual-Shield Security Model
LYNIO offers two complementary layers of protection to give you the perfect balance of broad governance and granular control:
1. Security Lists: Subnet-Wide Defense
Think of a Security List as the guard at the entrance gate of a secure community. It applies to every single resource within a specific subnet.
- Perfect for setting broad rules (e.g., "Allow all servers in this subnet to receive web traffic on port 443" or "Allow outbound DNS requests").
- Easy to manage collectively, ensuring no resource in the subnet is accidentally left unprotected.
2. Security Groups: Instance-Level Precision
If a Security List is the gatekeeper, a Security Group is the digital lock on your front door. It applies to specific virtual network interfaces (vNICs) of individual instances, regardless of their subnet.
- Create zero-trust configurations where a database only accepts traffic from instances that belong to a specific "Web-Servers" Security Group.
- Highly granular, dynamic rules that apply instantly without rebooting your machines.

Built-in Security by Default
At LYNIO, we believe in safe defaults. Every virtual machine is launched with a strict "deny-all inbound" posture. Only the traffic you explicitly allow gets through, keeping your application safe from automated scanners and brute-force attempts from day one.
- Dynamic Rule Updates: Modify rules in real-time. Changes are pushed instantly across the OVN software-defined network.
- Visual Console Rules: Build, duplicate, and assign firewall rule cards via our beautiful, modern console UI.
